The Long Road Ahead ...

So I want to throw myself on the floor and howl until I have no voice; I want to think that all is lost by choices made; I want to be selfish and have sympathy heaped upon me in my saddened state.
But I cannot.
This is not who I am.
I, by my very core being, am Optimistic. I wake up; get up; and show up every day. I see things that can be hopeful and positive and even after this recent election, this is me.
As with the start of this Pandemic Crisis, I saw the good that would come of it; not the bad. Because, in my head, pain = change and we need change in America.
President Donald Trump was a Catalyst in my view. He wasn't the problem or the solution; he affected the change to the inequalities that we have been kept blind from by our Career Politicians. The cloth has been lifted from our eyes and now that we see; we should be able to and want to do better for everyone; not just The Wealthy. Now, The Hubbs and I argue about this term 'wealthy' alllllll the stinkin' time, because he feels there are a ton of little businesses and small people who aren't the wealthy who will be hurt by the, hopefully, new policies that will be coming. I counter this saying that I speak, when I say The Wealthy, of Millionaires and Billionaires. Yet, we argue none the less lol.
So, as with the start of this Pandemic Crisis (yes, I know I'm repeating myself), I see one of two roads being taken.
Road One; President Elect Joe Biden continues being a Career Politician and does nothing (let me say that louder) NOTHING for the working class of this country.
I am hesitant to think he will change his path. During his 40+ years as a Career Politician (because, no, they are not public servants ... far from it) not only did not one of my friends tell me anything he ever did in office to better the working class; but the couple of things I did see the he is noted for did not help the working class but hurt them. I speak of the Social Security Tax and the Sub Prime Fiasco. Happy to chat about it if you want. So I offer up my chant ...

And I'll state for the record that despite her wealthy advantages, I like Kamala Harris. I think she is change for the better but make no mistake, she too is #thewealthy just like the rest of them. We are still being ruled by the wealthy and that's still a problem. I will never have enough money to afford that set of gray pearls she was sporting the other day. $$$$ And I would like to. I love pearls; they are my favorite thing in jewelry. But know; I know my place; I know my class and it's not there. But, I do like her and I am anxious to see if she get's heard or if Biden shuttles her like he tried to in the earlier debates.
Now the Other Road. President Elect Joe Biden realizes that in this country now that the Public; ALL of us need to do well. If we all do well, then WE ALL DO WELL. So he could inject money directly into the average person's hands. He could follow Modern Monetary Theory and create good jobs with living wages so we all do well. He doesn't have to tax the wealthy; he just needs to stop funneling money to them, is my hope. In other words, he needs to not chip in for Trickle Down Economics anymore. It's a proven failed system ... just look at your own bank account if you doubt this. President Ronald Regan did the working public no good.
It's my hope that Biden continues to live a healthy life and that the soon to be Republican representation's relentless pursuit of him does not wear him down. I say this because, since my man Bill Clinton took office, it's been nothing but an 'us or them' fight with virtually nothing getting done for the American Public and this behavior has to stop now.
I want to have hope that he sees the wrong that's been done with Trickle Down Economics and, goodness forbid, he chips in with the many new Economists who support Modern Monetary Theory, and we give it a go. I want Racism to be abolished and that all people in America have more than enough money; savings; homes; jobs; and, goodness forbid, food.
In closing,
Seriously ... 30+ years and here is where we are? I know, your gonna hear it ...

As a side prediction (and we can check back on this in 4 years). If this country stays it's current course with no change, we will see another non-career politician in the White House. The Public want better treatment. The Public want security and a solid way of life equal to each other, not beneath the 10%. And the Public will speak out again if the changes and realizations that we now have are extinguished. There may not be revolution, but there will be upheaval in Washington. This is my view of the possible future.
I hope for the high road. I hope Biden knows enough to care and change course. I always hope for the best. I do think we would have had continued good changes if Donald Trump had kept office; and I still like him for the catalyst that he is. I would not have my Gig Worker Unemployment if not for him and that's been a big help this year with no work. And that's just one of the things he (and The Fed) did for the working public. So now, I look to Joe Biden to either continue supporting all the American People, not just the wealthy; or he falls in step with the politicians of the past and we are thrust into ruin; just like on top of 2008. Time will tell and hopefully sooner than later. I look toward the positive.
