Halloween! It's The Best Time of The Year (at least for most of us) ...

So here we are. I thought when everyone started to post "Save Halloween" back in March over the Covid-19 business that it was a stupid thing to say. Save Halloween? Save it from what? Even if the virus was infecting wildly; it was and still is a very low death rate virus. That said, yes, I'm all about precautions but folks, it's here; it's not going away and we (you) better get used to working with it instead of hiding in a burrow and hoping it goes away and leaves you alone. Those days are long gone peeps.

So that brings me back to Halloween. Los Angeles attempted to Ban Tricks or Treats and then walked that back within 24 hours. NYC said they are a go and won't deny children (or their adults) the joy of Halloween. Hey -- by the very nature of Halloween you know you can be Hexed, right? Just kidding; mebbe.

So I am currently renting a house in surburbia, so think not on a mountain with no children ... no sir! I got children in the hood AND today I found 2 neighbors with full on yard decorations! So we are a go people!

I have this darling cute patio so I want to do a 'Haunted Pumpkin Patch' in it ... sadly I do not have enough room to social distance BUT masks will be a plenty as will hand sanitizer; I will be wearing gloves and a mask (broken china doll if anyone wants to know) and The Hubbs suggested goodie bags or foiled cups filled with treats so that they are individually wrapped already and no need for hands in a bowl.

Overall I feel pretty good about the general idea. I have a job in PHX for the next couple of weeks and then the first week of October I get home and can start the build. It'll actually be my first sort of Yard Haunt Hybrid. I have a cool light system from Lowes this year as well as spooky mood music from Bandcamp so some of the elements are already in place.

I secured some heavy duty cardboard today from a real patch that was setting up so channeling my best Rhode Montijo (who does amazing things with cardboard) I am gonna take a swing at this. More later but here's where I'm at so far.

Till next time; Stay Spooky My Friends!
